Cricket Revolution was a multiplayer cricket sports title for the PC that I worked on as my foray into game development in 2006. I joined Pakistan’s pioneer Game DeveIopment Studio, Mindstorm Studios, to work on the first PC game produced in the country. My work mostly revolved around the online dashboard and multiplayer portal that users logged in to when they wanted to chat with other players, find online games to join, and make friends within the Cricket Revolution player base.

The online portal also kept track of a player’s scores, allowing them to pull up their batting history and watch their batting average improve over time. Leaderboards allowed players to view global team rankings.

Working in the Torque Game Engine, I also programmed the fielding AI for the game.

The experience was especially rewarding because of the access I had to all parts of the game, in terms of client-server communication, the gameplay experience that we tested as a team, the development and integration of the 3D art that I got to see, and the opportunity to see motion capture technology in use to provide the player animations in-game.
